Sorry friend,
For I have always taken you for granted.
Never had I appreciated your friendship,
Only now,
After we have parted ways,
Then I realized
Just how powerful your friendship was,
And how meaningful it was to me.
During moments of sadness,
And madness,
Sharing both happiness,
And foolishness,
We walked through one of our darkest hours in life.
When I was blinded,
by many sins,
You loyally guided my hands.
When I was deafen,
by sweetened words of temptation,
You continued to stand by me without fail.
And when I was shunned and silenced,
By the world,
You spoke to me with unwearied counsel.
Even when I was lamed,
By all those grievances,
You picked and placed me up high,
On your own back,
And walked me through all those dunes.
When we ever meet again,
What words could I ever say,
What deeds could I ever do,
To repay your kindness,
To repay your friendship,
Or to apologize for my folly?
A thank you,
And a friendship,
Are perhaps,
All I can offer to you,
My friend
To you
